Home. Again.

We are home from a long away on the east coast. It was a wonderful trip, filled with family, friends and adventures around New England. Among the interesting places we went were: Newport Rhode, Island; Acadia National Park, Maine; Cape Cod, Jamaica Plain, Hopkinton, Plympton and Duxbury, Massachusetts.

It's hot and sticky in New England during the summer. Which I have to admit I actually like. There are ponds and lakes galore compared to where we are in California. We took full advantage of them while we were at Nana's house! Uncle Ed lent us his fishing rods and we fished a lot at Ashland State Park, which is right down the street from Nana & Papa's place. We even brought Nana & Papa with us one day. The boys were instantly hooked (pardon the pun) especially Max who wanted to go every day thereafter. One day we met another boy who was fishing with his grandfather and we walked the lake with them and fished and swam and jumped off rocks. We explored new places in a town Nana has lived in for almost twenty years!!! How great is that?

Once again, for various reasons, these shots are all from my iPhone 3. Not a great camera, but glad to have a few pictures to share with you of our trip.

One of many fish caught by Coleman and Max. We never did figure out what they all were. Bass?

A dip in Ashland Reservoir the day before we left Massachusetts.

Nana & Papa on the first leg of the walk to town. Good thing they went back - it was a super long walk.

Coleman found a baby snapper in Ashland Reservoir.

Max had a chance to hold that baby snapper too.

The lovely house we lived in with Nana, Papa, MB and Eva during our stay in Southwest Harbor. Slice of heaven.

Here are a few things I loved about being there:

:: Spending time with my family
:: Birdsong variety
:: Beautiful insects, lots of different ones, especially dragonflies
:: Watching my boys with their family
:: Seeing my friends
:: Hearing someone call my name in my old hometown of JP :)

:: Getting to know my niece better
:: Maine, ah, Maine
:: Frogs
:: Fireworks
:: Greek Pizza
:: Mornings with Nana :)
:: Walking in Rocky Woods
:: Running into my high school home-economics teacher at the Peak House
:: Meeting the son of one of the "girls" I babysat for when I was a girl

Oh-oh New England!

We're in Massachusetts right now enjoying the family and the sunshine. Here are some highlights from our past two weeks in no particular order:
